Wood can last centuries if properly cared for but can be quickly destroyed by termites and other wood destroying insects when neglected. Wood destroying insects not only cause damage to wood but can also be the cause of extensive structural damages to your home or commercial property without your knowledge.
At Superior Property Inspection Services we perform wood-destroying organism inspections to identify the presence or lack of such pests. Our visual inspections of homes and commercial properties goal is to reveal or rule out areas of activity and presence of termites and other wood destroying insects.
Some of the insects we look for includes:
- Subterranean termites
- Dry wood termites
- Powderpost beetles
- Carpenter ants
- Carpenter bees
Presence of termites and other wood-destroying organisms is common in older buildings. Due to their destructive nature, it is important to inspect the structure to make sure there is no visible damage caused by these organisms to the beams of the house.
Wood destroying organisms inspection
Our inspection to discover wood-destroying organisms includes a visual survey of the foundation area including basement, garage and exterior as well as probing accessible areas for possible damage. Although sometimes this inspection is referred to as a Termite Inspection, our inspection is not only looking to identify the presence of termites but also any other organisms that cause damage to wood and other building materials.
We will visually inspect for any organisms on the surrounding buildings of the property (i.e. Carport, detached garage, shed, trees, wood fence, etc.).
All termite and wood destroying insect inspections are provided in a timely manner with a detailed inspection report of our findings. This removes the guess work and helps you save time and money. All aspects of the inspection come together in the report detailing our inspection on the approved NPMA-33 form that you can submit to your mortgage and / or insurance agent.
